A little haul: MAC, New Look, Boots.

Hi everyone! Today I have a little haul (and I mean little) for you all, showing you all the bits I picked up recently. I feel like a few of the bits I picked up are really Christmas/New Year orientated... I just cannot wait.

First thing I picked up was the original Tangle Teezer. I feel like I am late on the band wagon for this product, but I absolutely love it! When this came out, I didn't really want to buy it because I just thought it was a regular hair brush. Oh, how I was wrong. I have thin, medium-long length hair, which always gets tangled. If I don't brush it for a day, it gets really dreadlocky. I used to use any old brush to take out my tangles, but after using the Tangle Teezer, I could really tell how damaging that was to my hair. The Tangle Teezer glides through my hair, whilst taking out the knots, and leaves my hair tangle free! Love it!

I picked up "Currant" lip pencil from Mac, which was definitely enabled by Sunbeamsjess. She wore this in this video, underneath Topshop's Depth (which I also have), so I kind of had to get it! It is a dark purple colour, which is great to layer underneath my dark lipsticks! Quite excited to wear it for the party season!

I love a good old slogan tee. This one is from New Look, and I love it! This basically represents my life and I love the monochrome look to it! I can tell that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this top!

Another purchase inspired by Sunbeamsjess. She has absolutely amazing style! In one of her videos, she was wearing this top (but in turquoise) from Topshop, which I absolutely love! However, I am so broke so I couldn't really buy the real deal. When I spotted this top in New Look, (for £9.99!), I thought of Jess and had to get it! I cannot wait to wear it to any Christmas/New Year Party! (All I need is a party to go to! Any offers?)

So, that is what I got from my trip to the shops! Which is your favourite?

Non beauty current favourites

I've been wanting to write a non-beauty related post for absolutely ages, but never really knew how to approach it. Suddenly, an idea dawned on me and today I am here to talk to you about the things I am loving at the moment! Hopefully this will inspire you to try out some new things!

1) 1989 - Taylor swift
I am a huge Taylor Swift fan and this album really did not disappoint. I am in love with all the songs from the album! They are really up beat with a few Lana Del Rey sounding songs! I cannot decide on a favourite, but at the moment I have been loving "Blank Space" and "New Romantics".

2) Amber Run
Amber Run are a band from Nottingham that I have loved for the longest time. Earlier in November, I got the chance to see them play in a small church (which was a cool experience) and they were absolutely insane! Whilst lining up, two of the band members came out to sing an acoustic song which was so lovely of them! I also got to meet the lead singer who was the nicest person ever! I recommend them to everyone!

3) Strawberry and Raspberry Tea
I have never been a tea drinker. I actually really hated a plain English breakfast tea, (does that make me a fake Brit?). However, I was introduced to the world of fruit flavoured tea by someone at work and oh my god, I am in love. This tea does have health benefits as well, which makes everything better!

4) Duster Coats
A fashion favourite for you here, duster coats! They are the perfect way or sprucing up an outfit! I have this casual duster coat from ASOS which I wear to spruce up a day outfit and this one from New Look which I love for the evening!

So those are the things I am loving at the moment! What are you loving?

ASOS Wish list

Hi everyone! Long time no see! It feels like I have not written a blog post in absolutely ages, (although it has been only one week). Sadly, work has gotten the better of me, but I have missed blogging! Today, I am going to show you my ASOS wishlist, containing all the items that I kinda need. Oh it sucks being broke! Whats your favourite from my wishlist?

I heart autumn tag

So since we are in autumn, I thought it was only appropriate to do the "I heart autumn/fall" tag! I picked these questions up from youtube (and took out a few to avoid the same answer in every question), and these are my answers!

1. Favourite Autumn lip product?
It is no lie that I love dark lipsticks for the autumn. My go to autumn lip product is Media by Mac. I would say that Media is a vampy purple shade which is perfect for the autumn. It is a matte lipstick, but I would not say that this is drying at all. I also love layering this lipstick on top of others (like Rimmel's Kate Moss 107) to darken the colour.

2) Favourite Autumn Nail Polish?
The nail polish that I over use when it comes to the autumn time is by Revlon in "Ruby Ribbon". This is a ruby red, matte nail polish (can you tell that I love the matte?) and it looks great on the nails! It has some glitter undertones to it which looks nice when your nails catch the light!

3) Favourite Autumn drink?
A lot of people are big Starbucks drinkers in the autumn, but I really am not. I prefer Costa during this season and what I love from there is there "Black forest hot chocolate". It is a cherry hot chocolate which tastes absolutely amazing. There has not been one autumn where I have not had at least one Black forest hot chocolate. Everyone should try it!

4) Favourite Fall Candle?
I am not a huge candle person but I do love the Yankee "Cinnamon Stick" candle. This candle screams autumn to me.

5) Favourite Fall Scarf or accessory?
Is it too early to whip out a beanie? I really don't think so. I live in beanies during the autumn/winter months. I have a huge collection of beanies so it really is hard to pick a favourite!

6) Haunted house, haunted hay ride or haunted corn maze?
Neither! They all sound terrifying to me. If i had to choose, then i'd probably go with the haunted house. I'd run all the way to the end of the house. I'd run fast.

7) Favourite Halloween movie?
I'm actually not a real halloween person. I think it's a far bigger deal in America than it is in the UK, (I may be wrong though!). I do not do well with scary movies... at all.

8) What is your favourite thing about Autumn?
Definitely the fashion! I love big jumpers, boots, hats. This is the time of year when monochrome becomes acceptable (which I live in all year round)! I also love autumn makeup.

I would love to know what your favourite things are about autumn, so please feel free to leave me a comment!

Whats in my bag?

I don't know about you, but "what's in my bag?" videos are one my favourite videos to watch on youtube. Maybe it's because i'm nosy... I prefer to be called "inquisitive". So, I thought i'd join the train and show you what I keep in my bag!

The bag: My bag is actually from Forever 21. I am the type of person that doesn't really keep a lot of things in their bag so I don't really need to invest in a quality bag right at this minute. Having said that, this bag has lasted me for quite some time and is still going strong. As you can see, it is a "Chanel" inspired bag... But a lot cheaper than the real thing! I purchased this bag from America for about $16 two summers ago and I think it's an absolute bargain! If you would like to purchase a similar bag, you can do so at ASOS.

The wallet: This is a recent addition to my bag. For the longest time, I was using a purse from New look but it was far too battered for me to keep using it! In a desperate attempt to find something to keep all my cards in, I stumbled upon this men's wallet from Dents in my brothers room. I actually quite like the leather exterior of it and it does hold all my cards in it! This wallet keeps all the essential items, for example, my Nandos card. (And of course my money)

The phone: Wherever I go, my phone goes. It is quite sad to think that I can't properly function without my phone! This is the iphone 5 and my phone background is a photo I took from when I went to see the 1975 in January!

The beauty items: A girls gotta have somewhere to put her beauty items in! I'm not really much of a person who tops up her makeup throughout the day (unless it is lipstick), but it is nice to know that something is there just in case! I always carry around my Soap and Glory "One heck of a blot" powder with me. Not only is it the perfect translucent powder, but it also has a great mirror! I also carry the current lipstick I am using which happens to be Rimmel's "Starry Eyed" lipstick. This is a great burgundy colour and it also smells like sweets!

The must haves: Finally we get to the "must haves". These a products that I take with me wherever I go and never get switched out of my bag! First we have the hair band - a statement piece for a "I need my hair out of my face" look. Then we have anti-bacterial gel. This one is "Aqua Blossom" from Bath and Body works. This smells so fresh, it is so annoying that we don't have Bath and Body works here! I also carry my "Bach Rescue Remedy Spray" in my bag. This is an item that I have to have just so I don't turn into a nervous wreck! I am quite an anxious person, so this product is a life saver! And finally I have my contact lenses! Just so if the ones I am wearing pop out, I can easily pop another in!

So that is what I carry in my bag! What is the one thing that you have to take with you wherever you go?

My favourite drugstore eyeliners

If I had to only choose one piece of makeup to wear for the rest of my life, it would definitely be eyeliner. Eyeliner is something that I could never live without and I always feel like my face looks incomplete without it. Today I thought I would gush about my top 3 drugstore/highstreet eyeliners and tell you why I love them so much!

1) Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner (£5.29)

This is probably one the best eyeliners that I have ever used. I may go so far as to say it is probably my holy grail eyeliner. I find the application goes on so smooth and I can really create a straight line without having any problems. The colour is an intense black and let me tell you that this product stays put. Want proof? I went to see "The fault in our stars" with this on, and after crying like a baby I went to check my makeup expecting it to be all down my face. It wasn't - it remained untouched. You would expect with that amount of staying power, it's probably a pain to get off with makeup remover... But its not! I can't talk about this highly enough and I have no idea why I haven't heard enough people talking about this!

2) Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner (£6.00)

This is a recent purchase of mine and I love it! I am the worst when it comes to winged eyeliner... I mean the worst. However, this product makes everything seem so much easier! You have such precision with the pen and the colour is also an intense black. You can really build up the intensity of your eyeliner, from natural to dramatic. This is a must have product in my opinion!

3) Soap and Glory Smoulder Kohl (£5.00)

I had to add the class kohl eyeliner in the mix - it's only fair! Yet another product from Soap and Glory, but I just love this pencil! I have the problem of  watery eyelids so if an eyeliner can stay on my waterline, it must be good. I opted for this eyeliner in "Cocoa Bean" instead of the classic black just for a more subtle look. It definitely gives a natural definition to the eye instead of a harsh black. I also find it easy to line my tight line with this pencil, something that I normally struggle with! It is a great product if you ask me!

I hope this post satisfied all the eyeliner junkies out there! What are your favourite drugstore/highstreet eyeliners? I am always on the hunt to try more!

Topshop makeup haul

I have been 'umming' and 'ahming' at Topshop makeup - especially at their lip products. However, since it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago (and that means i'm not broke anymore!), the 'umming and 'ahming' stopped and I braved myself and made a purchase. Since it is Autumn, the only appropriate thing to do is purchase some dark vampy lipsticks. Personally, I love a dark lip. I feel like it is the only thing that suits my skin tone, so naturally I am drawn to dark reds and plums. My order came through this morning and I thought it was the best opportunity to start my blog (something I have been thinking of doing since forever ago) and show you what I got!

First thing I picked up was Topshop's Lip Polish in Gallery

I am using a picture from the website because photographing this product with my bad lighting is not doing it justice! The website makes it look like it would be a dark vampy burgundy colour but in my opinion it comes out a red-orange. I was expecting this product to be an opaque colour but it is quite sheer. The sheer-ness of this product definitely makes it wearable for an everyday purpose and it is super moisturising and glossy!

The second product I picked up was Topshop's Matte Lip Bullet in More Than A Woman

This is probably my favourite of all the purchases. It is a dark deep berry colour, quite true to the bullet. I would say that this is a dupe for Mac's Diva. It is a matte but not drying and it feels like it would be long lasting on the lips (keep you posted on that!). The shape of the bullet allows for easy application which is definitely a plus. The only thing that annoys me is the packaging because it gets easily messy (as you can tell)!

The last thing I picked up is the darkest of my purchases and a true vampy shade for autumn. This is Topshop's lipstick in Depth

This is one of the darkest lip sticks I own and I love it! I am a bit too afraid to wear it on its own, I probably will layer this on top of lighter lipsticks to get more comfortable before diving deep into just this. It is a matte deep purple colour but again not drying. I got this lip stick because a lot of people said it reminded them of MAC's Media lipstick (one of my all time favourites), but personally it reminds of me MAC's Cyber lipstick. If you're looking for a dark shade for the autumn time, you should definitely check this out!

Swatches from L-R: Depth, More than a woman, Gallery

All in all, I am very impressed with the Topshop makeup and will not blink twice before ordering some more! What are your favourite products from the Topshop makeup line?
